The Geek a Week trading cards began as a one-year art challenge by Len Peralta, wherein he would interview an influential geek every week for a full year, then draw their portrait trading-card-style.  Thus Season 1 was born...and then Peralta kept going. Five seasons now exist, and rules to turn Geek a Week into a card game were developed by Mike Selinker and Kid Beyond.

The cool facts and geeky attributes on the back of the cards were written by Storm of the musical comedy duo Paul and Storm.

Available here are:  Season 5, and Season 5 (Limited Collectors Edition).  Some of the geeks you'll see include:

  • Clark Gregg (season 5)
  • Amanda Palmer (season 5)
  • Patrick Rothfuss (season 5)
  • and more!

The limited collectors edition of Season 5 comes in the Kickstarter-exclusive black box. True to the essence of the word limited, the black box edition won't be reprinted, so when they're gone, they're gone!

For a full list of the geeks involved in the project, or to listen to Peralta's interviews with the geeks, visit the Geek a Week website. All proceeds go to Worldbuilders, a geek-centered nonprofit supporting humanitarian efforts worldwide.

“Words are pale shadows of forgotten names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in the minds of men. Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts.”
